Upcoming literary festivals - Canada - May/June 2008

Published by Samantha at 3:33 am under Authors, Events, Festivals, Readings Edit This

May and June seem to be fairly slow months for literary festivals here in Canada, but check out these ones:

Bloody Words
June 6 - 8
Toronto, ON

Held every year since 1999, Bloody Words is the largest gathering of mystery writers and readers in Canada. Check out the site for complete schedule, coming soon.

Bayfield Writers’ Festival
June 28
Bayfield, ON

This one-day festival has featured readings and signings from such authors as Barbara Gowdy, Jane Urquhart, Ian Ferguson and Janice Kulyk Keefer. The lineup for the 2008 festival doesn’t seem to be ready quite yet for this festival either, but keep checking!

Tree Reading Series
Ongoing
Ottawa, ON

I don’t think this is exactly a literary festival, but it sounds interesting. On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the series features readings by established Canadian writers, as well as an open mic session for up-and-coming writers.
